Alisa’s songwriting journey began after she found lyrics for a song that she had written a decade earlier, crumpled up in the back of a drawer. She believes that it had been waiting there until the time was right for her to find it. Ironically enough, the song was called “The Whisper.” It was about hearing God’s voice when he speaks to you. Alisa felt in that moment that God put songwriting into her heart, and for the next year and a half she poured everything she had into learning the art of songwriting. She worked with a songwriting coach, read books, took online classes, listened to the radio for hours upon hours, and took good old pen to paper every day.
Once Alisa had the necessary tools, she revisited her song. The title changed to “He Speaks to Me,” and it was the first of her Christian songs to be produced. The song, with its simple message of faith, has touched many people.
Alisa has had several songs produced, and many more on the way. She works with a studio in Nashville, TN to bring her musical vision to life.
