God spoke songwriting into my heart over a decade ago when I wrote my first ever song, “The Whisper”. At the time, it was full of imperfections and needed lots of work, but the story and message it provided was a powerful one. When we don’t feel like we can hear God, it isn’t because he’s not there, it’s because we aren’t listening.
It wasn’t until just a few years ago that I found the lyric sheet crumpled up and forgotten in the back of a bedroom drawer and had decided to take the dive back into songwriting. I started with reviving the framework I had written so many years before, and the title for the song finally became “He Speaks to Me”.
Since that moment, I’ve been cast on an incredible journey, writing dozens of songs, learning from mentors and growing along the way, and eventually working with a studio in Nashville to bring my words to life.
Through this truly unexpected discovery of songwriting, God has opened so many doors and shown me that it’s never too late to chase your dreams! I’m blessed to have found my purpose and to be able to share my love of God through my music!
